Why is the Left So Opposed to Darwinian Evolution in the Market?

Evolution-Preview-ImageLeftists, on the main, are profound believers and espousers of – when it comes to how the Earth and its flora and fauna have developed.

They also accuse we on the right of wholly dismissing it. (Well, I’m a buyer — so too is just about every conservative I know. But leftists never allow facts to get in the way of a good beating.)

Darwin’s theory of evolution is about wild, dynamic change — spontaneous, ceaseless disruption of the status quo. Every organism is constantly evolving to meet the demands of its environment. Which in turn changes the environment. Meanwhile, every other organism must constantly adjust to all of this.

And round and round it goes. .

Evolution’s fundamental contributing tenet is .

Natural selection is the gradual process by which biological traits become either more or less common in a population as a function of the effect of inherited traits on the differential reproductive success of organisms interacting with their environment….

Seton MotleyThe term “natural selection” was popularized by Charles Darwin who intended it to be compared with artificial selection, which is now called selective breeding.

All of this sounds an awful lot like a free market economy. Species are companies — the market, the environment. Only the capitalism evolution timeline is infinitely compressed. It doesn’t take thousands of years for changes to occur — they happen instantaneously, constantly, incessantly. And the price for natural selection changes for the worse are paid just as fast — a good idea today can kill you tomorrow.

Nowhere is this spontaneous disorder on greater display than the Internet-technology sector. It’s still a very nascent industry — so new ideas are constantly being developed and introduced. In the distributed Web, competition comes at you via myriad web strands — at multiple, acute angles.

The article states that the main reasons for non-belief in god(s) are:
1) bias against god(s) due to personal tragedy.
2) parents and upbringing.
3) education as opposed to indoctrination.
As evidence for a bias against god(s) it cites Charles Darwin's personal tragedy in losing his daughter. However, it then quotes Darwin's own explanation,
"But I found it more and more difficult, with free scope given to my imagination, to invent evidence which would suffice to convince me. Thus disbelief crept over me at such a slow rate, but at last was complete. The rate was so slow that I felt no distress"

In Memories of My Life, Galton said that the publication of Darwin's book on evolution stirred a rebellion against religious dogma: "The publication in 1859 of The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin made a marked epoch in my own mental development, as it did in that of human thought generally. Its effect was to demolish a multitude of dogmatic barriers by a single stroke, and to arouse a spirit of rebellion against all ancient authorities whose positive and unauthenticated statements were contradicted by modern science."
He became an openly anti-Christian bigot. For example, he wrote about prayer, dismissing the idea that God would ever listen to anyone's prayers for good weather, basing his argument on mockery, not data: "I do not propose any special inquiry whether the...

Does anyone know any facts about Charles Darwin besides that he discovered the theory of evolution by selective breeding.
he didnt discover evolution, he got facts that led up to it and it was natural selection not selective breeding. oops!!!

Believe he travelled on a boat in the South Pacific and then he caught a disease and spent most of his time indoors, but you can double check these facts on Google or Wikipedia! :)

He nearly didn't publish his findings as he was afraid of the reaction of the church (he was a Christian), it was only when a friend informed him that Alfred Russel Wallace was about to publish his own independently gained findings that he did so.
