Dr Kate Golebiowska

Research Fellow

Kate is a social scientist with a doctorate in public policy from the Australian National University (2007) and a Masters in Political Science from the University of Warsaw, Poland (2000). She has long been fascinated by international migration and her location in Darwin has contributed to the regional focus of her work. She has been involved in projects dealing with other policy issues such as workforce mobility, social impacts of gambling, the Third Sector and social enterprise.

  • Patterns of immigrant mobility (internal)
  • Comparative national legislative frameworks and governance of immigration
  • Transnational immigrant links

Current Projects

  • Exploratory project of employment and mobility trajectories of immigrant-born early childhood education and care workers in Darwin, NT. Funder: CDU Faculty of Law, Business, Education and Arts.
  • Formative evaluation of DiversityWISE program – an intensive support program for job seekers from disadvantaged backgrounds (e.g. humanitarian entrants) offered by WISE Employment in Darwin. Funder: WISE Employment.

Charles Darwin?

During Darwin's 5 year voyage what were his main conclusions with indications of what he saw and what led him to conclude, using the following terms: homologous, vestigial, analogous, island biogeography, artificial and natural selection.
